Journaling: I am happy that it appears the new tradition is to have my side of the family over on Christmas Eve. It is the favorite night of mine of the whole holiday season. My parents and sister will arrive in the afternoon, have dinner and exchange gifts. My parents will spend the night before traveling back to Ohio the next day. We’ll have the in-laws over the weekend before Christmas to see the house and play cards like Euchre. Good times.

Journaling: I was pleasantly surprised that there was a bit of order to the passing of the presents. last year. I always feel a little bad for my Mother-In-Law who is so busy passing the gifts that she doesn’t see them get opened. I don’t quite feel comfortable enough to suggest that something new be tried.

Journaling: One thing that would make Christmas the way it used to be is for us to find a neighborhood that lights luminaires that line their street. My father used to drive us to neighborhoods in Mansfield, Ohio when we were children to see thesee sights. Peaceful, romantic,
even holy.

Journaling: I absolutely could not resist the feather tree when I saw it combined with K & Co. Paper Ornaments. I surprised David by having the tree up and half of the ornaments finished by the time he got home last night. He loved it immediately. I love the cottage-feel of the ornaments.
